Arm Warmers in knitted Scalemail Armor - Red and Black

Dragonhide Gauntlets: the look of scale maille but with handknitted comfort, flexibility and warmth. This listing is for a pair of gauntlets with matte black and fiery red gleaming against black yarn. The shiny red and matte black anodized aluminum scales are knitted in an overlapping pattern that covers the back of the hand and wrist. The scales point down toward the fingers. Sturdy black acrylic yarn forms the base of these gauntlets. The palm is scale free for comfort. The thumb holes allow this to be worn over the hand, or ignore the thumbholes and wear it higher on the wrist. Choose your size by wrist measurement: small is for wrists 6", medium for 6.5" and large for 7-8" wrists. Order the smaller size if your wrist falls between two sizes. They are 6.5" long. I often get asked, "How did you think of that?" Well, necessity is mother of invention. I bought a large amount of these scales intending to make a traditional scale maille armor shirt for my husband. But I hated making armor. I needed to use up those scales, so I turned to skills I've had for years. I crocheted the first pair, but they of course didn't stretch.
